Day 1

Wednesday May 8th, 2013

I arrived in Boston at about 9:30 AM on a Wednesday morning. I met this lady on the plane who sat next to me and started talking to me about how she was related to the original Pilgrims and was on an adventure to figure out her family tree... the entire 1.5 hour ride there. Which doesn't seem that long. But oh, was it long. I mean, that's cool, but, eaugh.

Anyways, I get to the team's apartment around 10:30 after a wallet draining taxi ride ($52, what???).
First thing Horak says to me is "I have a surprise! We're all taking the day off and going kayaking!!!" We didn't go kayaking -- but we did go to laser tag! WHICH WAS A VERY COOL AND FUN THING. ALSO, I AM HORRIBLE AT ANY SPORT, LASER TAG INCLUDED. Horak bought a plastic bow and arrow from the 'prizes' (for their arcade games). Boys.

After that, we're driving home and everyone's kind of musing about what they want to do for dinner. Do we go home first? Do we eat out? Do we make food? We're slowly inching down a street and we all see a Brazilian BBQ All-You-Can-Eat Buffet.

Schiff: "Do you guys want to get Brazilian BBQ All-You-Can-Eat?"
Everyone hesitates.
Schiff: *slowly inching forward with the car* "Yes? No? Yes or No? Hurry up guys!!"
Somebody say "yes" very quietly and then it's a YES OKAY LET'S GO, PARK!

Brazilian BBQ: Delicious and shady. Also lots of catfish.

After that, I had a headache. Probably from travelling all day and just shock of getting to a new city? Not sure. Maybe allergies. Doesn't matter. The rest of the guys were going to a concert that night and I had already bought a ticket for it. I ended up foregoing the money so I could get some sleep. Watch the Firefly movie, Serenity. Take a breather.

Once they guys got back, we all chilled a bit. Matt played some hipster guitar tunes and I sang along while strumming random notes on his ukulele. Horak tried to play ukulele, but he "doesn't have musical talent", he says.
