This morning, I woke up, stumbled out of my room in my pajamas - hair all a mess, vision still blurry, no bra on, eyes half closed - and the grandma in the house was like:
[in Chinese] "Lulu!? Is that you? I need some help!! The TV won't turn on again!!!"
I was like "Wha? What? What's going on? Oh, TV. Okay, oh. Not turning on. Right."
[in Chinese] "Okay, hang on a second. I'll help you in a bit!"
After showering and brushing my teeth (and putting on a bra), I went down and helped her. Turns out the internet was out and I just had to restart the router so that their little Chinese TV Box thing would work. But geez. If I haven't been around that morning to restart the internet and try out a bunch of stuff, there's no way grandma would know how to get the TV working.
Grandma: [in Chinese] "Oh thank you thank you!! I was worried I would have nothing to do all day!"
Do your old people do anything besides TV? I feel like watching TV in old age is a very Chinese thing. Every Chinese elder I know watches TV all day -- and only TV all day.
Oh, and then I got a chocolate muffin from her in return.
I started reading Life of Pi again today. It's really good! I feel like I'm learning how to speak and think all over again. Reading does that to you. I no good at read. The interesting thing about reading is the way I think after I read something. My internal voice starts talking to me like the voice in the book or article I just read and it's a cool state of mind.
Decision: I'm going to read on the bus from now on. I thought I would get carsick, but I didn't, so I'm gonna read LOTS OF THINGS!
Side note:
ROBERT DOWNEY JR.
was on the cover.
Fun fact: I love this guy. Also I like Iron Man. Also I LOVE Iron Man. ALSO I'M GONNA WATCH IRON MAN 2 TONIGHT. ALSO I'M GONNA WATCH IRON MAN 3 AGAIN.
It was worth the 5 bucks I spent. Since GQ is for men, there're lots of pictures of women AND men, which makes for really great drawing practice. (Also RDJ is just pretty.)
For lunch, I tried "Au Bon Pain" today. I dunno what it means, but I know that they don't put enough salt in their 2 Egg Breakfast Sandwhich or their Broccoli Cheddar Soup! Nonetheless, it was pretty good. I almost went to Panera again (for revenge on the missing grilled cheese...), but figured I should try something slightly different since I am in Boston or something.
Matt got a haircut today and it looks ULTRA CUTE!!! Which brings me to my worry: I think I may be getting a little overexcited around my coworkers lately. I have to tone it down or else I'll turn into an annoyance.
(but Matt's hair so fluffy, I want my hair to look like that!!)
Speaking of haircuts, I might get one soon. My bangs are getting real fugly and I ain't happy about it.
Here's a photo I took today at the bus stop:
And here's the sloth I promised from yesterday:
