Day 5

Today was uh... today I walked a lot.

I did my very first solo grocery trip and bought half of what I needed, because the milk and shampoo were way too heavy to carry around. (Little known fact: I'm really weak.) Of course, I missed the bus that would take me there from the stop next to my house. But, you know, it's early in the morning, I should explore for a bit, so I just started walking along the bus route.

The number of Dunkin Donuts in Boston astounds me. Even as I was walking down some random street (well, probably not too random since a bus route goes through there), I found a Dunkin Donuts and stopped in for a box of Munchkins and a "Coolatta". TIL Coolattas are WAY too sweet, even for me. Why oh why did I ask for that extra whipped cream?

When I got on the bus that I had missed earlier, I swear the bus driver said "Any day now..." as I scanned my card. Hey! What the heck man!!! You calling me slow!?

Anyways, after my grocery trip, I got back to the house and found that my subletter person left Life of Pi on her bookshelf, so I started reading it a little bit. Aaaaand then I started a new TV show by Joss Whedon (after Firefly, I'm a huge Joss Whedon fangirl) called Dollhouse. I swear I'm going to finish that book though. Books. Reading. The bane of my existence?

Horak texts me about a water fight, so of course I miss it and respond almost an hour later (but somehow the party is still going?), so I hopped on a bus and went to the team's house around 5. But as soon as I showed up, Horak's like, "Heyyy!! I'm leaving now to go play some tennis!"

I walk back to the team apartment with Horak and walk in to see Matt... feeling sick!!! OH NO!!! So we made the remaining 4 eggs in the fridge and some Tofurky, then watched a few episodes of Adventure Time. I didn't want to intrude, but... I had traveled all the way up and getting home was not an easy trip... I have an excuse, right? Right??

When Horak, Schiff, and Mike all came home, Horak and I started watching Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, and eventually the whole team sans Schiff was on the couch in front of the laptop. I've never watched Star Wars and it was cool! The buildings and designs are so. DOPE. And Horak kept calling these farting camel things Lulus. My name is Lulu.

I left after the movie was over around 10:45 maybe? BUT ALAS, I GET LOST AGAIN. Well, not exactly. I got to Harvard Square alright, but then I couldn't find the bus stop for bus 66 and watched somberly as it zoomed past me into the night. So... Here we go -- I walked along the bus route again and eventually caught a 66 along the way, with some panicked help from Joe and lots of fast walking to avoid... hobos.

Well, I'm home now, so all is well and I'm writing this post. But I... Man. I walked a LOT today.
