I was determined not to be late to work this morning -- also to get some breakfast. The sunlight woke me up at 8:30, I was in the shower by 9 and out the door by 9:30. According to Matt, we don't have to get to work until 11 (preferably before 11), so I took my time to take a walk around the streets and find my way to work by myself.
I got lost. Duh.
See, I got to Harvard Square successfully. But I had the wrong address for our office. The one I had pointed to a random spot between two streets that had no buildings. I stared at my Google Maps for a whole hour, walking around looking for our office, recognizing places from yesterday, but NOT OUR OFFICE. Finally, I texted Matt with an "Oh geez I'm lost" and he gave me the correct address.
Work happens.
Lunch: Chipotle.
More work happens.
At some point, I was getting a little restless and wanted to go outside for a bit. So I did. Unfortunately, it was after the outer doors had locked to the office and I was locked out without my phone.
I finally catch a bus home with Horak, Matt, and Mike at about 8:30, 9 ish. We get home, and I sing some "Snails" by The Format with Matt's funky guitar skills.
Horak is itching to be outside that night, so him and I decided to take a walk. Horak, Matt, and I 'chey'd and then... this is where things get interesting.
While going down the stairs Horak talked about how he thinks we could be father and daughter. I said, no way. We get out the door and he, being the charismatic fellow he is, stopped a young man on the sidewalk and asked him "How old do you think she is?"
I put on my most childish face and pose and he guessed 20. WHAT THE HELL. I'm 19, turning 20. He then guessed Horak's age right, and we got his age right.
Horak: "Would you like to go on a walk with us?"
Ryan (this kid): "Well, uh... Sure! My roommates are asleep anyways."
We started walking and talking with Ryan to wherever and ended up in a sort of shady part of town. Later, Ryan told us that this is where he got a little scared that we were going to kill him. We turned around and went towards civilization again and ended up at the Lilypad, some kind of performance avenue where they were doing an improv tournament-sort-of-thing that night. We stopped in to see what all the fuss was about and it was HILARIOUS. We ended up sitting down and watching until 1:30 at night, when it finished.
After that, we devoured a Francesca pizza at Pizza Pie-ed where I swallowed my disgust of mushrooms and ate a lot of mushrooms. Ryan came back to the team apartment with us and we all chilled out to some good James Blake before he went home.
Some things about Ryan that we found out that night:
- 6'4"
- Violinist at The Rivers School Conservatory (I think)
- Does a lot of gigs with his orchestra friends
- Has a small Asian girlfriend
- Has a very high metabolism
- Chill dude
- Lives right down the street from the team
That was my first impromptu night and it was super fun!!!

@lubibul got locked out of the building, so naturally she attempted to scale the wall and climb in via the roof #theFetchnotesDifferenceAbout half way up that wall, I stopped and realized maybe I was being a little dangerous. I went to the Market In The Square next door and used a dude's phone to call my own. Schiff finally picked up after the third call and I got back in.
